The design process went fairly well with out group. Surprisingly, there wasn’t much disagreement. All of us had similar ideas for what we thought Johnson & Johnson could improve upon within the sectors of the Living Principles Analysis, and those were transparency, waste, and moving from a product to a service. When looking at Johnson & Johnson products, our group analyzed which products could have the most done to them. Things like bandaids and Zyrtec came to mind when thinking about packaging and service based choices. Like I said earlier, it was nice having everyone on the same page from the start, so picking the categories we wanted to focus on was not hard. When it came to the “how might we” questions, we struggled a bit at first figuring out how to not be too vague or too specific. I think we pooled our best ideas though, into a nice selection of questions that we had to narrow down with. This part of the process was a lot more drawn out though, and it was new to me doing everything individually at first, then coming together as a group. Most of us found our questions to become repetitive and it was challenging figuring out how to write a thought provoking question that could be completely different than something that was already written when we neared the end of the ‘how might we’ process. Voting for our favorites even before we had a group discussion was something I questioned, but it seemed to have worked out in the end. I feel like our group handled the design process well over the last couple of classes, and our ideas flow nicely between each other. We are actively listening to each other for new ‘how might we’ statements, and ready to work together to pick the best strategy for the rest of the project.
